So you just finished your floors, believe it or not, it not done yet until you accessorise it. This is in terms of making the finished look to be neat and tidy and the trommings should compliment the floors as well as contribute to the longetivity of the floors. We will discuss these accessories in interoduction terms:

Transition molding(T-molding)-It is used to create a transition between two floors of equal thickness It helps create a seamless flow between different textures and designs, making your home look more put together. For example, if you have bamboo flooring in your kitchen and laminate flooring in your living room, T molding can help blend the two together.

Stair nose It is used to improve the safety of the staircase. As it protrudes a little over the edge of the tread, it provides some extra space for users to place their feet. It also used to define and reinforce step edges. Depending on their application, they can offer enhanced visibility for low light conditions

Skirting– It is a flooring accessory that is installed along the bottom perimeter of walls where they meet the floor. It serves both functional and aesthetic purposes in flooring installations. It covers the improper edges, avoids scratches from furniture and gives a room a good finish. It is a border, especially made of wood or tiles, that protects it from kicks and dirt. Skirting is typically made of wood, MDF, PVC or other materials and comes in various styles, sizes, and finishes to complement different interior designs.

Reducer– It is as a floor accessory, is a type of transition strip or molding used to create a smooth transition between two different types of flooring materials that are at different heights. It is used when there is a transition between two rooms or areas with different flooring materials or floor levels, such as transitioning from hardwood to carpet, tile to laminate, or any other combination of flooring types. The purpose of a reducer is to provide a gradual slope or ramp between the two floors.

L-Shaped Transition Profile– This type of accessory is used to create a transition between two different types of flooring materials, typically in doorways or thresholds. It has an L-shaped cross-section, with one side covering the edge of one floor and the other side covering the edge of the adjacent floor. The L-shaped transition profile helps to provide a clean and finished look while bridging the height and style differences between the two flooring materials.

There are different types of floor trimmings that work as a substitute for the above mentioned categories. We shall look into that in the next coming blogs. Visit our showroom at Yasian Interior Centre for more!
